I got together with little Rowan for his newborn photos a few weeks ago. I’ve loved getting together with Emily & her family over the years, it’s truly a pleasure capturing their photos. I visited them in their home and we starting the session off with a little bath for Rowan. All the kids love their new little brother and he was such a delight to photograph. They have such a great home with true character and wonderful colours, it made for the perfect backdrop. I look forward to watching you grow little man, I’m sure you’ll turn out to be a wonderful hockey player like your big brother Aiden, sweet and kind like your sister Katie, and handsome and funny like your brother James. Welcome to the world. Here’s a few of my favourites….
Late Fall is always a interesting time for me. I usually find my self pretty tired, burnt out and ready for some down time and learning. Every year I try to go to a conference or workshop to get the creative juices flowing again and gain some inspiration for my next season of weddings. I came across Jennifer Moher’s workshop (Refresh) and immediately I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I loved that she was from Ontario, her work is beautiful, and the workshop was nice and intimate. I signed up and off I went last weekend. Together with her husband Hugh Whitaker, and her amazing assistant Erin Lester it was a incredible workshop with such amazing, insightful information. Honestly my head has been spinning with new ideas since I left. One thing that really stood out was having the opportunity to get together with this gorgeous couple below and do some shooting. It was nice to try a few new things and challenge myself to capture light and angles in a different way. What I was really hoping for was to come away from this workshop with a boost of energy, to feel inspired again, and to meet some amazing local photographers. I got exactly what I needed and more. Thank you Jennifer, Hugh & Erin for being so delightful, open to answering my million questions, and your openness to share your talents. Here’s a few of my favourites from the day.
What a day! November can be a tricky month when booking family photos, you really don’t know what your going to get in terms of weather. Lucky for this great family we hit the jack pot and had unbelievably warm temps. for November. We got together in Huntsville where some of the family traveled all the way from Saskatchewan the night before. They were wonderful, and little Catherine was just a doll. Here’s a few of my favourites!

I got together with this great little family a few weeks ago for Charlotte’s newborn photos in Bracebridge. Don & Sam just unpacked in their new beautiful home before welcoming baby Charlotte, it’s gorgeous with lots of great light. Charlotte’s not the only baby in the house, their sweet pup was in on all the action and was right by the baby’s side the whole time we were shooting. It was wonderful getting to know you guys and capturing these family photos for you. Charlotte sure is a lucky little girl to have you as her parents. Here’s a few of my favourites.
